Single Session Therapy with Chloë Swinton
You may prefer to have one session of therapy if you have something specific on your mind and would like to talk to someone confidentially and objectively about it. Single session therapy (also known as One-at-a-Time Therapy) can help when you need to gain further understanding or clarity of your situation, become unstuck, need help with decision making, or to find a solution to your problem as soon as possible.
Sometimes one session is all you need to find perspective and be able to move forwards with an action plan, which we can work on together. It is rapid therapy where we look at your goals, find solutions, and stay focused on the problem you wish to resolve.
Towards the end of the appointment, we discuss what your next steps are and how you will implement these. There is the possibility for future therapy or another single session, or a follow up in three months time, if desired. Half of clients who come for single session therapy don’t feel they need further support.
Single session therapy aims to be accessible at the time of need. Once an appointment is booked and confirmed, I send you a short Pre-Session Questionnaire, which needs completing before the appointment date. This allows you to get as much as you can out of the time we have available in the session.
I have undertaken several courses with Windy Dryden; an international trainer and author on Single Session Therapy, and completed Solution Focused Therapy accredited training. I'm happy to answer any questions you have before arranging an appointment and you are welcome to book a free 20 minute consultation if you would like to discuss if this approach is best for you.
