Single Session Therapy with Chloë Swinton
You may prefer to have a single session of counselling if you have something on your mind and would like to talk to someone confidentially and objectively about it. Single session therapy can help when you need to gain further understanding of your situation, be able to express your emotions, become unstuck, need help with decision making, or find a solution to your problem.
Sometimes one session is all you need to gain clarity and perspective and be able to move forwards with an action plan, which we can work on together. It is rapid therapy where we work to your goals, find solutions, and stay focused on the problem you wish to resolve.
Towards the end of the appointment, we discuss what your next steps are, the option for future counselling or another single session, or a follow up in three months time, if desired. Half of clients who come for single session therapy don’t feel they need another session or long term counselling. A follow up session can be helpful in order to have time to put your plan into action and then discuss how this has worked out.
Single session therapy aims to be accessible at the time of need, you can book your appointment one week in advance by visiting my online calendar. This space allows you time to prepare for the session. Once an appointment is booked and confirmed, I send you a pre-session questionnaire, which needs completing before the appointment date. This allows you to get as much as you can out of the time we have available in the session.
I have undertaken further training with Windy Dryden; an international trainer and author on Single-Session Therapy, and completed accredited training on Solution Focused Therapy. I'm happy to answer any questions you have, before booking a session.
