Counselling with Chloë Swinton
I am a professionally qualified and BACP Registered Integrative Counsellor offering in-person counselling in Norwich, Norfolk, or telephone and online video counselling wherever you are in the UK. I've been supporting clients since 2010, and provide non-judgemental and confidential one-off, short or long-term therapy and create a peaceful and secure space to help you gain a clearer understanding of yourself and your situation. Counselling can help you manage better day to day and give you confidence to build a more meaningful and fulfilling life. It guides a unique personal journey which can be deeply transformative, stabilising and enriching. It enables clarity, growth, strength and inner peace.
Who I work with I work flexibly with adults experiencing a range of problems such as abuse, anger, anxiety, bereavement, depression, eco-anxiety, eco-grief, estrangement, childhood trauma, lack of confidence or self-worth, loneliness, loss and grief, low self-esteem, mental health, missing people, panic attacks, relationships, self harm, spirituality and stress. My specialisms are providing grief counselling to anyone with ambiguous loss; when life is in limbo for whatever reason, I work with people affected by domestic abuse, and also offer ecotherapy - see links for more information on these topics. My approach By practicing integratively and holistically, I blend elements from different counselling approaches to suit your individual needs as I believe there is no single method that is effective for each client in all situations. This may include looking at what is happening for you at the moment or inviting you to explore your past. I bring knowledge from my studies in nutrition, mental health, NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), coaching, energy psychology such as EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), for example, into my therapeutic work, along with inspiration and guidance from a range of well-known therapists, coaches and healers. I can use techniques and exercises to help you convey how you are feeling, and listen intently with curiosity to bring clarity and perspective to your situation. I use aspects of evidence-based therapies such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Training) and SFT (Solution Focused Therapy) in sessions and can work with goals and offer 'homework' if this is appropriate and desired. I explore your physical, emotional and spiritual being and can also work creatively if expressing yourself in this way could be helpful to you. Sessions are regularly reviewed to ensure they are focused and your aims are being fulfilled. I hold you with great regard and I'm compassionate, kind and patient. Chloe has been a great source of wisdom to me. She helped me work through many critical issues from past and present. She was often able to uncover issues that I wasn’t consciously aware of and it was helpful to see things clearly. She never seemed impatient of my endless conversation on a certain topic while I was trying to grapple with the emotions and thoughts they elicited. I do feel as though I am so much further down the road to having a healthy ability to cope with life issues. - CJ
