Drumming in Norwich
drumNorwich offers group drumming opportunities such as drum circles, therapeutic drumming evenings or facilitating other group drumming sessions in Norwich and Norfolk. My focus is on the therapeutic experience of drumming, not the technique - no judgements of you or your drum are made! All drums of any type or size and percussion are welcome and it's lovely to have an international drum feel! Eg. bongos, frame, djembes, rattles, hang, shamanic, tambourines, dundun, egg shakers, tablas, hand drum etc, or you can book and borrow a drum at no extra cost. See further details below.
Group drumming is powerful, therapeutic and fun. It's also social, inclusive and a global language - breaking down barriers of age, gender, hierarchy, culture and language. You don't need any talent, aptitude or musical ability – we all have a beat within us having spent nine months only six inches away from our mother's heartbeat! When you are drumming you are in the moment, which helps release the stress of holding onto the past or worrying about the future. Our friendly drum circle is usually on the last Wednesday of the month and for adults (check dates to be sure). No experience is necessary and everyone is welcome. Bring any drum or percussion instrument with you or complete the form at the bottom of this page to borrow and reserve one.
Therapeutic Drumming Evenings
Drumming is therapeutic and powerful; accessing your whole body and mind; bringing healing, relaxation and positivity. During these focused drumming evenings for adults, we drum more of what we want into our lives and drum for others, and also experience a drum journey/visualisation. We end with a cuppa to ground ourselves. Bring any drum or percussion instrument with you or complete the form at the bottom of this page to borrow and reserve one.
Just come away from the most amazingly positive evening with drumNorwich. The energy was incredible. - Kerry
When our hands connect with a drum that vibrates with our energy, vitality, emotion, exhilaration, hope, sensitivity, giving, sharing and unity, we become whole again. - Barry Bittman, MD
I attended one of Chloe’s Drum Circles and absolutely loved it. I had no idea what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. In a beautiful circle of beautiful people, Chloe set the space and created a structure that allowed us to fully experience freedom of expression, no judgement and no pressure to get it ‘right’. We created a rhythm together, shifted stale energies, let go of tensions in the process and ended with a nice cup of tea. What’s not to love? Taking it in turns, we all used different kinds of drums and percussion. The rhythm was healing, uplifting and empowering. I left the session feeling energised, light and relaxed. I’d recommend drumming to anyone as a satisfying and fulfilling way to express, connect and heal. I’m really glad to have gone and will be definitely be going again. I very much look forward to the next ones.” - Amy
